New Carpet! 06/24/2008

Our new living room carpet was installed yesterday!  I knew it would look nice, but I wasn't prepared for how different it would look and feel.  It's like a whole new room.

I came downstairs this morning and was pleasantly greeted by the plushness beneath my feet.  I even had the unusual desire to vacuum!  There were still a few loose fibers (a little dog hair too).

Now I'd like to just go and admire the room, but alas...there is much to do!

I Like Firefox3 06/18/2008

My husband was so excited about Firefox3 yesterday!  I decided to give it a try.  Today I'm enjoying some of the new features. I especially like the way it spell-checks as I'm typing online.

I'm also trying some different add-ons and plug-ins.  My favorite so far is Clipmarks.  Sometimes when I bookmark a site or save a link, I can't find what I actually was interested in.  Clipmarks allows me to highlight text and pictures and save it (like a paperclip) or share it with others.

As of today, I'm very satisfied with the improvements and new options of Firefox3!

School is nearly finished!  I'm wondering what to do this summer.  I suppose it would be wise to catch up on all of the things I've let slide during the school year.  I know there are a few dust bunnies under the bed (out of sight, but I know they are there).

I think it would be more interesting to travel this summer.  There's a creation museum that I'd really like to visit.  Unfortunately, gas prices are going to interfere with some summer plans.

Hopefully the garden will be planted this week.  We are planting a small raised bed garden.  I'm hoping this will help with the grocery bill.   Lately I've spent 20 to 30 dollars more per week.  I'm not shopping differently, but prices aren't what they were last year.

It sure is hard to focus on school when there are only a few days left.  The kids are feeling the same way!  Why does time seem to slow down during the last few weeks?  I guess I'll never know!

October Already! 10/03/2007

Time sure does go quickly.  Fall is in full swing and the holidays are quickly approaching.  School is back in session.  I am currently substituting.  This is a nice change from full-time teaching.  I enjoy meeting many teachers, parents and students.  I'd like to be a full-time teacher again, but not quite yet.

We are hoping to sell our (mine--before we married) house--closing next week if all goes well.  Then maybe I can afford a graphic design program and spice this place up a bit!

We joined approximately seventy motorcycles for a great ride yesterday.  We rode from Lansing to Hastings with a police escort.  The officers blocked intersections so that we never had a complete stop.  It was a great ride and the money raised benefits the CASA program (court appointed special advocates).  So needless to say, I didn't make much progress here!  Back to work now!

I'm excited about the possibilities of this site.  Thanks to Weebly, I was able to register the domain and create a unique site.  I am currently using my spare moments (while my husband plays Xbox 360) to find and link to great teacher/educator resources.  I could grab a list from someone, but I'd rather be sure the sites are useful.
